RL Folklor is a distinctive display typeface designed around the dynamic interplay of positive and negative space. This approach results in bold, blocky letterforms with a carved aesthetic. The balance of straight segments, curves, and cuts maintains an energetic character, embodying artisanal simplicity.

Like other typefaces in the collection, such as RL Aqva and RL Limo, RL Folklor challenges the conventions of sans-serif design by borrowing influences from serif traditions. Rather than drawing inspiration from specific typefaces, it takes cues from traditional craftsmanship, particularly woodcut aesthetics.

Deeply rooted in the idea of memory, RL Folklor features interconnected shapes where negative space creates both harmony and tension. Its unique personality is defined by terminals that blend a rare combination of low-contrast humanist elements with echoes of ball terminals, as seen in letters like ‘C’, ‘J’, ‘S’, ‘a’, ‘c’, and ‘s’. Additionally, sharp pinch points strategically align, visually locking characters together for a cohesive and structured appearance. This typeface is a perfect tool for creating strong typographic impressions, excelling in large sizes, as well as in densely set display paragraphs.
